Mom the Brave began with a deep desire to encourage moms.
Being a mom is a wonderful experience filled with unspeakable joy, hysterical laughter and overwhelming love; but it is also difficult. So many moms feel discouraged, isolated, inferior and lost. At Mom the Brave, we’ve created a safe place that moms can come and belong. They can laugh, cry and find community.
We believe being a mom is a high calling. We need God to strengthen, empower and equip us for the job. As much as other moms might seem to have it all together, we know we all fall short of perfection. Join us, a community of imperfect moms who are real (and sometimes a real mess) and we do our best to rock motherhood together.
Stick around and you’ll find tips to make life a little easier, delicious recipes, devotionals that will encourage you and your relationship with Jesus and other moms just like you.
Mom the Brave officially launched in August of 2016 by three friends who rely on Jesus (and coffee) to get through every day.

Holly Yzquierdo
When Holly and her husband got married in 2005 she instantly became a mom of three. A year later they moved halfway across the country and away from all family and friends. Holly became a stay at home mom and over the next few years they had two more biological kids and had a foster son for over a year.
Holly discovered a love of blogging when she started My Plant-Based Family when she was a stay at home mom. When her husband lost his job she went back to work full time. She works as a social media manager for a large non-profit and also blogs and HollyYzquierdo.com.
Melodee Fiske
Melodee is a mom of two boys and married to her dream man. She grew up in Southern Illinois where her love for Jesus, family and all things pretty started. In 2003, she moved to Arizona and has fallen head over heels for the beauty the desert possesses. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Elementary Education and taught second grade for three years before having her first son. She started her photography business, Melodee Lynn Photography, in 2013.
When she’s not photographing people, she’s photographing for some of the best blogs in the business. When Holly asked her to join her in co-founding Mom the Brave, she jumped in with both feet. Her desire is to create a community of women bonded together by their stories of survival and faith.
Christine Morton
Christine and her husband are high school sweethearts. After being an elementary school teacher she was excited to be a stay at home mom when her first son came along. Now, a mom of 4 boys, Christine is well equipped for the chaos and loves the challenge being a “boy mom” brings.
She is a lover of Jesus, Littles, Coffee, and Light bulb moments. Her heart is full of passion for mommas in the trenches of motherhood. She loves to share scripture, encouragement, prayer, and moments of laughter and hope.
